The Charter Vision ("Why Renaissance Prep?")

Middle school graduates in the Near Eastside of Indianapolis face a systemic transition gap. While our city serves as a global epicentre for biotechnology, clinical research, and advanced healthcare delivery, local youth within Martindale-Brightwood and surrounding areas (ZIP codes 46218 and 46201) are historically locked out of these high-wage career trajectories due to a lack of specialized STEM preparation.

Confronting the Pipeline Paradox: Local metrics reveal that only 18% to 25% of neighborhood high school students hit state proficiency benchmarks in ELA and Math, while 80% to 90% qualify for the federal Free or Reduced-Price Lunch program. Renaissance Prep actively breaks this paradox by embedding a world-class, rigorous healthcare and laboratory ecosystem right inside the neighborhood.
